Library Scavenger Hunt

Objectives:
1- Introduces Students to the process of acquiring Secondary Research
2- Familiarize students with the services and resources found at the Library.
3- Requires them to demonstrate the successful use of the online catalog, library databases, and online resources

Instructions:
Students are split up into their peer groups. Each group is given the Library Scavenger Hunt activity to be completed during class time, and later submitted online for homework credit. The activity sheet allows the students to use a mix of online research, face to face interactions, and find and recall testing to help the students successfully conduct secondary research. To ensure that activities are conducted as a group, the activity sheet has built in check points where the Instructor and/or Teaching Assistants, as well as Library Assistants are required to sign off and/or time stamp on specific tasks, when each groups arrives at a specific destination in the library. Although conducted during class time, the activity form must be completed and uploaded to the class web site as a homework assignment.
